The Magnetic Compass technology

Magnetic Compass

The magnetic compass was invented in medieval Europe in the 1302. Since travelers during that time kept getting lost; the compass directs travelers in different directions such as North by aligning itself with the Earth’s magnetic field. It also includes directions that are a combination of 2 major directions, such as North-East. The magnetic compass was invented to keep travelers from getting lost. This technology has benefited society by pointing airplanes, ships and travelers in the right direction and prevents them from going astray.

autobiography

**********

Everyone’s life is extremely different, and so is mine; this is how it goes. My name is ******; I am currently 13 years old and residing in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Like many teenagers/pre-teens I have my own individual likes and dislikes. The fist thing you should know about me is that absolutely hate writing, I actually like ELA but I just dislike writing a lot! I like ELA a lot because you get to read a lot and that’s my favorite pastime. And after each exciting day of school I go home and create music which is also my passion.

I utterly love music, from classical music like Mozart to newer music like the Weakerthans. If your wondering who the Weakerthans are, they’re a Winnipeg “indi” band. Sadly there is only one thing that about music that makes it seem more like a chore than something that’s fun, which is caused by my parents. The only reason that my parents bring down my music is because they constantly make me repeat one certain phrase when I play piano until it sounds robotic. I know that doing that is “good for me” but I really hate it. Another reason why I dislike my parent’s method of practicing is that my definition of practicing is playing though the entire song and enjoying every second. After playing wondrous and occasionally boring music I always go and hang out with my friends.

Friends are the most important thing that anyone can have, well a loving family is also important, but this paragraph is about my friends. For some reason we always spend money when we are hanging out, I don’t know if it’s a mystical force or just we’re always hungry. Since none of my friends or I have a credit card we always pay in cash. After receiving the change I sift though it for special coins all the time. Currently I’m only two Vancouver Olympic coins and a coin from Australia, you might be pondering why I want a coin from Australia, it’s because I have a coin from every continent except Australia. I usually blow off money on weekdays; on weekends I enjoy saving my money by playing sports.

I enjoy a variety of sports, mostly two, Ultimate Frisbee and Badminton. I’ve been playing both of these sports for at least three years; both were taught to me by my 23 year old brother. I think that I’m fairly good at both of them but there’s still room for improvement. My dreams for when I get older are that I hope to become a better musician, athlete and to someday complete my coin collection.
